PLANNING A TRIP TO THE KALLANG FOR AN EVENT?

To avoid possible traffic congestion & delays in carpark entry, opt to travel by public bus or MRT. We recommend bringing a small collapsible umbrella or poncho due to rainy weather. As huge crowds are expected at major events, do arrive early — around 60 to 90 minutes before event time.

Let’s Celebrate 2025 at Singapore Sports Hub this New Year’s Eve

SINGAPORE, 28 December 2024 – Singapore Sports Hub is hosting its first countdown party this December. Let’s Celebrate 2025, organised by Mediacorp in partnership with Singapore Sports Hub, will feature fun-filled activities for all ages and a dynamic mix of live music performed by homegrown talents. At midnight, the evening will culminate in Singapore’s longest single countdown fireworks display this year that will illuminate the sky to usher in 2025!

To ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience, it is essential to plan ahead. Members of the public visiting the Sports Hub for  are strongly encouraged to follow Mediacorp and Sports Hub social media pages for the latest information. They should familiarise themselves with the event guide, and take note of the following:

1. Travel light, and be prepared, rain or (moon) shine!
Pack only essential items for a hassle-free experience at the Sports Hub. As the weather can be unpredictable, it is advisable to bring along a poncho or you can purchase one from the Kallang Wave Mall Box Office. In the event of inclement conditions, follow the guidance of our ground staff.

2. Plan ahead – check crowd levels, take public transport and arrive early
Free activities across the precinct start from 5pm so come early to check them out.

To plan your route and activities, you can refer to the Crowd@Kallang information portal for live updates on the crowd situation at Sports Hub on New Year’s Eve.

The public are strongly encouraged to take public transport to avoid expected congestion on the roads. The Sports Hub is served by Stadium MRT and nearby stations include Tanjong Rhu, Mountbatten and Kallang MRT stations. Train and bus services will be extended on New Year’s Eve. For the detailed schedule of these service extensions, please refer to the public transport operators’ respective advisories (Go-Ahead SingaporeSMRTSBS Transit and Tower Transit).

3. Take note of venue closures and limited access on bridges around Singapore Sports Hub
To ensure the safety and smooth movement of foot traffic in the vicinity, there will be limited access to the Tanjong Rhu Suspension Footbridge and the footways on Merdeka Bridge between 11.30pm and 12.15am. Patrons are strongly advised to avoid loitering in these areas. The Tanjong Rhu Lookout Tower will be closed to members of the public. The public should follow the instructions of Singapore Police Force (SPF) officers and security personnel on-site.

In view of Let’s Celebrate 2025, the Visitor Centre and Singapore Sports Museum will be temporarily closed from 26 December to facilitate the smooth operations of the event. Both venues will reopen on 4 January 2025.

4. Keep calm, be kind, and stay safe
With large crowds expected, comprehensive safety and crowd-control measures will be in place at the Sports Hub. Visitors are encouraged to be patient, stay vigilant, look out for one another and cooperate with safety measures and instructions from SPF officers, security officers and ground staff. Together, we can create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all.

5. Hydrate throughout the evening
Fuel up and stay hydrated throughout the evening. Food and beverage kiosks will be set up across the Sports Hub and Kallang Wave Mall tenants will continue sale of food and refreshments beyond the usual mall operating hours. Please find more information here.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you at the Singapore Sports Hub – it’s going to be a night to remember!
