The Singapore Sports Hub welcomed more than 23,000 visitors at its third edition of the Sports Hub National Day Fiesta, in celebration of the nation’s 54th birthday. This year’s event paid homage to Singapore heritage, through family-friendly sporting activities and festivities that showcased elements of Singaporean culture.

The Singapore Sports Hub today announced the launch of ticket sales for the largest Natsu Matsuri event in Singapore: the second edition of the Japan Summer Festival scheduled to be held at the National Stadium, in conjunction with the quarterly Sports Hub Community Play Day.

The first ever summer-themed edition of the Sports Hub Community Play Day saw over 15000 visitors soaked up the sun and enjoyed sports like never at the one-day multi-sports extravaganza.

Enhanced entry screening measures will be implemented around the National Stadium in view of the expected crowd capacity for the International Champions Cup (ICC) matches on the weekend of 20 and 21 July 2019.

Bask in the sun at the inaugural summer-themed Sports Hub Community Play Day happening at the OCBC Square on Saturday, 13 July from 10 am to 8 pm. The one-day event is free to the public and will feature a range of innovative fitness activities such as experiential party workouts and team building multi-sports challenges.

The Singapore Sports Hub launched the first sports, art and heritage walking trail titled The Kallang Story: A Sports, Arts and Heritage Trail today, with the unveiling of the Merdeka Lions by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and the Ministry of Transport.

Singapore’s adopted home team HITO-Communications SUNWOLVES will return to the National Stadium tomorrow to face last year’s Super Rugby finalist – the LIONS. This will be the SUNWOLVES’ second and final Super Rugby home match here in Singapore in the 2019 campaign.

There is much for rugby fans to look forward to as Singapore will be hosting the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens for another four years until 2023. Event organisers are set to further elevate the fan experience at this year’s edition with a series of spectacular entertainment offerings.

Singapore Sports Hub and Singapore’s premier esports organisation, Team Flash, are collaborating on a cohesive talent development plan for 2019 which includes a professional esports training facility to develop local emerging talent in esports, in view of Singapore’s participation in this year’s SEA Games in Philippines and the next Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China.
